About Us

Homeless of America is a non-profit organization based out of Seattle, Washington. Homeless of America has two operational programs the Homeless Prevention and resource program and the Graceful Healing program. Homeless of America began July 15, 2013 in Renton, Washington. The founders of the organization (all prior members of the homeless community) wanted to create an organization to address the root cause of homelessness. The organizers of HOA provide quality meals, build community relationships, and provide resources to the homeless community. The relationship between the HOA organizers and the homeless community was so strong that the recipients began sharing their stories. The information that was provided by the homeless recipients assisted in the research that led to the creation of the Homeless Prevention and Resource.
Homeless Prevention and Resource program provides:
• Job search assistance
• Job training referrals
• Resume assistance
• Food vouchers and hot meals
• Transitional housing placement
• Counseling referrals
• Mental health/addiction resources
• Clothing and Clothing vouchers
• Homeless prevention workshops
• Children clothing and supplies
• Animal/companion supplies
• Holiday adoption

Graceful Healing program provides assistance to people who were recently diagnosed with a terminal illness. Every year millions of people are diagnosed with potentially terminal illnesses. These individuals are often advised to stop working to focus on treatment. The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that guarantees certain employees a limited amount of unpaid leave each year with no threat of job loss. Short Term Disability (STD) pays a percentage of an employee’s salary if they become temporarily disabled, meaning that they are not able to work for a short period of time due to sickness or injury ensures that the employer will pay a percentage of your wages while recovering. Being approved to receive these benefits can take several weeks. While waiting for these benefits to process, no income is available, the bills start to pile up, and debt begins to accumulate. This is where gracefulhealingus.org comes in. We are here to help cover you and your family, while you recover. Our goal is to assist with qualifying costs that accumulated during the FMLA/Short-Term Disability process. We want families to have peace of mind so they can heal properly and minimize stress.
Graceful Healing program provides:
• Qualifying Rental assistance
• Utility Assistance
• Prescription/copay assistance
• groceries/food assistance
• Cash assistance
• Beauty/cosmetic (altered appearance due to illness or medical treatment)
• Holiday Adoption
